I have been looking into sustainability and come across some very helpful websites that offer fair trade and believe in this way of life saving the environment. Here is a list of websites where you can find interesting information and good examples of recycling and helping the environment:
I would like to leave you with a question do you agree with the idea of sustainability - designers, fashion students any one who has a voice, would you consider it in your work?
In preparation for Chelford market tomorrow Me and my Dad are going to sacrifice a Sunday day by setting up a stall to sell our good. You should see what we have it looks like we have raiding a Heavy Goods van. I am taking this opportunity and selling old things that I really don't need that I have kept for no given reason. I am quite excited to see who pops along and invests in my old things but it should be a productive day. Even though I have sorted out a lot I still have a lot of junk in my room. What shall I do?
This is a video from www.youtube.com which shows the chemical process of making Nylon. It shows a scientist winding it around for metres and metres - incredible how much you can make. The disadvantages of Nylon is that it is not very Eco friendly as it pollutes water and is hard to dispose of after the cleaning process. Also chemicals are used so it can react with other elements in the air to pollute the environment. I have learnt a bit about Man made fibres- especially Nylon and wouldn't use it it for Eco friendly reasons but the alternative would be polypropylene making it safer and better for the environment.
Is it just me or are more people riding their bikes today? I suppose it's more economical for the environment and saves money and petrol. I think this should increase and I think it's a good thing people are realising they need to make a difference and feel less under pressure to run and own a car in this credential climate. Time's are tough at the moment with the Credit Crunch and people are realising they can cycle for free and cause no harm to the environment. This is the start of decreasing the risk ozone layer diffusing and I am glad people are doing it sooner than later. Electric cars are on the market using no emissions making it safer on the road using a sustainable idea to help the environment which can develop and allow the way in which we do things a lot cheaper and safer for the environment. Cyclists are a nightmare whilst your driving but then now I realise they are sacrificing cars to save energy costs and allowing us other road users to keep our cars.
