LAYOUT FOR SHIRT...

As you can probably see from my layouts of my skirts there is a lot going on so I thought this shirt image was strong enough to be on its own and enlarged as I think it's a nice angle in which the shirt is photographed from and the black and white effect makes the detailing look more professional. The thing is I don't know whether to get a larger image and a full layout similar to the skirt on just one or the other. Please help me decide!

I don't feel that this display has worked very well: what do you think ? I just think the two image on the left focus too much on the pocket which is the weakness of my shirt.

This layout worked the best because all the images related to each other and it was more space out with fewer images used. Do you agree?

LAYOUT FOR FABRIC SKIRT...

For this skirt I wanted it to differ from the hessian skirt making them a clear comparison so changed the format to four inserts and one larger picture because this skirt wasn't as successful. I quite like how I have displayed these images and might consider printing them out because it looked better on camera than it did on the mannequin from the best angles it was shot at.
I think both displays worked out really well but what do you think the fabric or hessian ?

LAYOUT FOR HESSIAN SKIRT IMAGES...

After looking through my images I chose the strongest and then ones which would work well together and I think the layout represents my skirt well. I had a a lot of strong photographs but thought the photos of the front showed off the design feature the best. I don't know what you think but I think I have laid them out quite well!If you have any comments or advice please tell me so I can apply it to my final layout idea.

PROFESSIONAL SHIRT PHOTOS...

Following on from the photographs of the skirt I managed to photograph my shirt which worked really nicely but because I had used so many different colours and fabrics I thought it would be more professional if it was in black and white for my uni portfolio.I prefer the black and white photographs because it disguises the small creases and makes it look a similar fabric.NORMALBLACK AND WHITE

I am pleased with the results and would consider using the black and white images because they show the detail and create a sharp contrast.

FABRIC SKIRT VS HESSIAN SKIRT

During the process of making the Japanese skirt with the hole inserted in it I first tried it in a fabric with a rough texture and then decided it didn't have a lot of volume so chose to use Hessian which in my opinion was most successful. I found Hessian challenging to work with but produced the nicest flare and stronger structure and texture. With the fabric the volume dropped and the design lines weren't defined enough whereas with the Hessian the design lines were clear veering towards the holes and the flared fabric was exaggerated with the heavy weight of the Hessian fabric. I have to confess I could have presses the skirt before I put it on the mannequin but It wasn't the successful one out of the two so I didn't make as much effort. As you can see this skirt wasn't as successful but I thought I would see how it would work out and some shots are okay with a little bit of photo shop they could be nice for my portfolio.FRONTFRONT

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS FOR INDEPENDANT SKIRT TASK...

We managed to persuade a photographer to take a few photos for our university portfolios which I'm happy to say she did an amazing job. I was worried because of last time the photos didn't quite work with loose threads and excessive creases but this time I don't have to apply that much photo shop to my work.

Overall these images showed off the best angles of my skirt and how much volume the Hessian has supplied the design with.

SKIRT PATTERNS = PROBLEM...

I attempted to create my skirt patterns for my final design and it didn't work out how I imagined with the panels being to restricting and small to cover the surface area of a size 12. I fitted it to the mannequin and I needed to widen out the panels and make them longer to fit my design description. I will definitely redo this and make it more extravagant to make it more noticeable from a distance.
